Hello Back to School, Good Bye Summer

🌍 Embrace Diversity, 📚 Ace the First Week, and Teacher Businesses You’ll love! ✨

Hello!

As we bid farewell to summer and embrace the back-to-school season, we're thrilled to present our August edition of the The File Cabinet! Get ready for a month filled with invaluable resources, discounts, and encouragement for an incredible start to the new school year.

Let’s dive in:

🌍 Embracing Diversity in the Classroom:

Creating a diverse and inclusive classroom environment is vital. One simple yet impactful way to foster diversity, equity, and inclusivity in your classroom is through the books on your bookshelves. Displaying a variety of multicultural books is a practical strategy to celebrate the uniqueness of each student.

đź“™ Book of the Month: Atomic Habits

This book is a personal favorite. It includes simple steps to change your life for the better. One way I get in the habit of exercising is by pairing something I enjoy doing… listening to audible books & podcasts with something I don’t enjoy doing…exercising. I also do this when doing the dishes. Simply pairing something you may not enjoy doing, with something you DO enjoy– is a way to accomplish a goal and set a habit.

Now let’s talk about back to school. If you haven’t started back yet, you are more than likely preparing to go back to school within the next few weeks. As a reminder I want you to think about a few things: morning meetings, routines & procedures, self care for yourself, emergency sub plans, and your first week of school.

We’ve included a few resources to help you get started during your first week:

đź“š Ace the First Week:

The first week of school sets the tone for the entire year. If you haven’t downloaded your routines and procedures checklist you can grab it from our July Newsletter here:

An activity you can do with your students is the popular “All About Me” printable. These activities include a set of 9 diverse students as well as a blank pennant. Allow students to fill out & decorate their pennant and hang them up in the classroom or on your bulletin board.
